“This is my story of my story”

Ever since his debut in Nicolas Roeg’s Walkabout (1971), David Gulpilil has been a mesmerising, electrifying presence on Australian screens. An actor, dancer and an elder in the Marwuwyu community, David Gulpilil’s career has spanned over 40 years, and includes unforgettable performances in films such as as Storm Boy (1976), Mad Dog Morgan (1976), The Tracker (2002), Ten Canoes (2006) and Charlie’s Country (2013), which won him the Best Actor award at Cannes. Grappling with cancer since his diagnosis in 2017, Gulpilil shares his story with remarkable openness and generosity in this superb documentary from director Molly Reynolds (Another Country).
