How to submit your entries

Ready to submit your students’ work? Follow the instructions below to complete your submissions. Remember, the submission portal closes at 11:59 pm (AEST) on Friday, 21 August 2026, so don’t leave it until the last minute.

To submit entries to the Schools Reconciliation Challenge, your school must first be registered.

Register your school here

Once your registration has been received, you’ll receive an email containing a link to access the submission portal.

Click the link in your invitation email and select Start Submission to create your account.

You’ll be asked to:

  • Enter your name and email address.
  • Select your school from the dropdown list.

Can’t find your school?
Select Other to create a new entry and simply type the school name.

After you’ve created your account, a six-digit verification code will be sent to your email address.

We use secure email verification instead of passwords, so you don’t need to remember a password. Each time you log in, you’ll receive a new six-digit code.

Your account only needs to be created once. After that, you can return at any time to upload additional student entries.

Before starting a submission, please make sure you have:

✓ Your student’s work saved in a high-quality digital format.

✓ The file does not exceed the limit of 25MB.

✓ The correct file format for your category.

✓ The student’s Artist Statement or Writer’s Reflection ready (where required).

✓ The student’s “Reconciliation means to me …” bit is ready.

✓ Correct file naming using the following format: School_Title of Work_Student Name, Example: BNPS_MyCountry_MarySmith.pdf

!!! When uploading your film, please title it with the entry name only, not the student’s name. Judging should stay anonymous and the video title is visible to judges.

For Film submissions, please upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo first and have your shareable link ready. Please see the Film Submission Guide below for detailed instructions.

Select Start a Submission.

Complete the submission form by selecting:

  • Category
  • Division
  • Student details
  • Required information

Upload your files and complete the remaining questions before submitting.

After completing a submission, select Add This Entry.

You can continue adding as many student entries as required before completing your submission session.

Alternatively, after submitting an entry, simply select Add Another Entry to begin your next submission.

Film submissions require a shareable video link.

We recommend using either YouTube (Unlisted) or Vimeo (unlisted).

An Unlisted video won’t appear in searches, but anyone with the link can watch it.

Option 1 – YouTube

  1. Sign in to YouTube.
  2. Select Create → Upload Video.
  3. Upload your video.
  4. Under Visibility, select Unlisted.
  5. Complete the upload.
  6. Copy the video link.
  7. Paste the link into the submission form.

Option 2 – Vimeo

  1. Sign in or create a Vimeo account.
  2. Upload your video.
  3. Set the privacy to unlisted and that anyone with the link can view it.
  4. Copy the video URL.
  5. Paste the URL into the submission form.

Before submitting your film, please check:

✓ Your video link opens correctly.

✓ Your privacy settings allow judges to view your video.

✓ Your film is titled it with the entry name only, not the student’s name. Judging is anonymous and the video title is visible to judges

✓ The upload has finished processing.

✓ You’ve kept a copy of the original video.

After each submission, you’ll receive a confirmation email.

This email will include:

  • A summary of the entries you’ve submitted.
  • A link to view your existing submissions.
  • Confirmation that your files have been successfully received.

The Schools Reconciliation Challenge is open to all students in Years 3-10, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, and of all abilities. Students participate through their school. Pieces will submitted and judged according the following divisions:

  • years 3-4
  • years 5-6
  • years 7-8
  • years 9-10

  • Short stories
  • Poetry
  • Personal reflections
  • Persuasive pieces
  • Speeches
  • Letters
  • Hybrid creative forms

  • Digital files must be clearly labelled using the format: School_Title of Artwork_Student Name
  • Written submissions must not exceed 250 words.
  • Files must be submitted in PDF or Word format.
  • File size limit is 25MB
  • Written entries will be reviewed for originality, including potential AI-generated content.

  • Clear connection to the theme
  • Depth of thinking about belonging and reconciliation
  • Original voice and creativity
  • Emotional impact and clarity of message

The Schools Reconciliation Challenge is open to all students in Years 3-10, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, and of all abilities. Students participate through their school. Pieces will submitted and judged according the following divisions:

  • years 3-4
  • years 5-6
  • years 7-8
  • years 9-10

  • Painting
  • Drawing
  • Digital art
  • Collage
  • Mixed media
  • Sculpture

  • Digital files must be clearly labelled using the following format: School_Title of Artwork_Student Name
  • Artwork must be submitted as a high-quality digital photograph or scan. Preferred file formats: .jpg, .gif, .bmp (or as specified in the portal).
  • Images must:
    • Be clear and high resolution (Low-quality images may impact judging or exhibition inclusion)
    • Show only the artwork (no students or background environments)
    • Be suitable for reproduction in print and digital exhibition formats
  • File size limit is 25 MB

  • Strong visual interpretation of the theme
  • Symbolism and meaning
  • Creativity and originality
  • Technical effort appropriate to age level
  • Clear artist statement explaining the idea

The Schools Reconciliation Challenge is open to all students in Years 3-10, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, and of all abilities. Students participate through their school. Pieces will submitted and judged according the following divisions:

  • years 3-4
  • years 5-6
  • years 7-8
  • years 9-10

  • Student-led initiatives
  • School reconciliation projects
  • Interviews or storytelling
  • Documentary-style pieces
  • Call-to-action videos

  • When uploading your film, please title it with the entry name only, not the student’s name. Judging should be anonymous and the video title is visible to judges.
  • Video submissions must not exceed the time limit of 4 minutes.
  • Files must be submitted in MP4 or MOV format.
  • File size limit is 25MB.
  • Where required, a signed media release form should be obtained to confirm consent of individuals featured in the video

  • Authentic student voice
  • Demonstrated impact or initiative
  • Clear link to the theme
  • Storytelling and structure
  • Creativity and collaboration

The Schools Reconciliation Challenge is open to all teachers.

Reflections, case studies, or creative documentation of programs that foster belonging, inclusion, and reconciliation.

Focus areas may include:

  • Classroom programs that build belonging
  • Culturally responsive teaching
  • Community partnerships
  • Student leadership initiatives
  • School-wide reconciliation strategies

  • Digital files must be clearly labelled using the format: School_Title of Artwork_Student Name
  • File size limit 25MB
  • Written submissions must not exceed 250 words.
